dazed and confused

I've been reading blogs a lot lately.... you can tell that things are getting slow in real estate these days. Anyhow, it would appear that fingerless mitts are all the rage. Everyone is knitting those things.

Now I don't get this. I understand the ones that are actual mittens and the top part folds back to free the fingers if you need them to do something (like sort change or something) without taking the mittens off.

What I don't understand is why you would knit a piece of fabric to cover the wrist and the hand but not the fingers. What about the poor, cold fingers? What is the point? Isn't it almost just as well not to have anything on at all? How hard is it to take a pair of gloves off if you need your fingers free for a minute or two?

Am I missing something? Is there a good purpose for these things that I'm not thinking of?
Because, if I'm taking the time to knit mittens or gloves, you better believe I'm taking the the time to knit the extra few inches to keep my digits warm!

well! i never! i have always liked fingerless gloves, or they can be called wrist warmers, also, because you can wear them indoors, if you are doing stuff that requires digits, but your hands are cold. or if you are a panhandler, or...oh geez, i dunno!

anyway, i am getting a package together for you, i feel like the worst secret pal ever...but stay tuned, there is stuff coming.

i went to spinning camp and have all sorts of mayhem going on, but i have not forgotten about you!

I thought that the fingerless gloves would be good for pumping gas. I don't know what the craze is, either.

Isn't this blogging thing addicting? I could spend hours looking at people's blog.

I love fingerless gloves! Actually I am making a pair to protect that inch of wrist which sticks out between my gloves and my sweater.

I suppose I could just get longer gloves next time...

I'm with Meg! They're for the part of you that's naked between the coat sleeve and the glove...or in my case, just because I have cold arms. Of course I have to actually KNIT some, and then it will help my cold arms...but that's another story. :D
