Have I Mentioned That Lace Is Going To Be The Death Of Me?????

Behold, Pea Pod. Once again, I am stuck. There is a 16 stitch panel of lace that I cannot, for the life of me, get through correctly. I can never tell where to start the series of stitches because every row has a different number of stitches than the last time. I can't grasp the concept and I can't "read" the knitting. I understand the stitches. I know what I'm supposed to do. I just can't tell where to start it. It's so hard to explain. My brain is so funky when it comes to this. It has to be some form of learning disability... spacial, reasoning, ... something. I don't know. It's very frustrating.

I can tell it isn't going to be too long before I scrap this project. Life's short. Could be time to move on.

Is it possible to put stitch markers around the lace sections? That way, even if the number of stitches changes, at least you could tell where the non-lace stitches end and the lace stitches begin

I'm for the stitch markers, too. If you don't have fancy ones (tell me, I'll send you some!) you can just make little yarn loop markers. That way, you'll know when the lace inset is starting (no matter how many stitches) and maybe even what row you're on (by counting stitches between the markers.)

Me again -- what size are you making?
