I ran out of colloidal oatmeal for this last batch so I need to score some soon. And I wanted to ask you about gell stage? Do you let your soaps gel? I actually put mine out on the deck in the winter or in the fridge in the summer to prevent gel because the soap stays more opaque and creamy looking. Doesn't affect the soap in any other way at all. And another neat thing I discovered is that you don't have to reach trace to get soap. As long as your mixture is sufficiently mixed/emulsified, the chemical reaction takes place without any help from the soaper. Those little molecules just find each other on their own and bond. That's how some people get such awesome swirls in their soap.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
