Moving forward....

Thank you to all of my knitting friends for the words of kindness and encouragement on the loss of my father. Believe me, it helps to know people care.
In the days and months and hopefully years to come, we will honor my father by taking very good care of my mother.
The knitting needles may slow to a more moderate pace now as more important things take over the spare time in my days.
But that is what you do. You take care of the people you love.
You wouldn't want it any other way.

Still sending you hugs. Would have liked to get to Hollidaysburg to give you support in person but it just wasn't in the cards. :( If you need anything in the coming months, just give a holler.

You're so right, Holly. When my dad was dying it was important for him to hear us say, "Don't worry, we will take care of mom." Now, almost 13 years later, we still do take care of "mom" who will be 89 in April. All I can send you is prayer and positive thought, so know that I do.

Holly, I know that this has been very hard for you, yet you are a true and gracious lady. I admire how you are holding up and taking the responcibility that your Father has entrusted you with. Just remember - if you need anything- call. Hope to see you soon.

Taking care of my dad is how I'm honoring my mom. Truthfully, he's my step-dad. He married my mom when I was 13. He's the best argument in the world for blended families! You're doing the right thing. And you know, some of the best times I spent with my mom at the end of her life were just sitting with her in companionable silence and knitting while she watched TV.
